City Briefing 55 - What next for Circular Quay?

Some $3 billion of construction work across several private sector projects is now under way at Circular Quay, where the Light Rail terminus will be. What kind of place will the harbour gateway become?

The major developers are AMP Capital, Lend Lease and the Dalian Wanda Group. AMP Capital is hosting this presentation to help us understand the outcomes and how Circular Quay will be regenerated.

The AMP building was first to break the 150-foot height limit established in 1912 and was the tallest building in Australia, incorporating much new technology. With Goldfields House (by the same architects, Peddle Thorp and Walker) at the other end of the Quay, it defined the 1960s gateway to the city.

Gold Felds House has just been demolished and Sydney City Council has approved a complete refurbishment of the AMP Building to recover its past glory.
